The best part of Bitchat using geohashing is that I now know that geohashing exists.

I had heard of geocaching (which is a natural fit to gamifying aspects of geohashes) but I had never heard of geohashing itself before and it's fascinating.

I've had a long love affair with maps, mapping, GIS etc but I've only ever used Lat/Long for location finding. This geohashing thing is such an easier way to think about locations.

Has someone designed a sticker for bitchat yet to get more people on? Haven't seen a single person yet.

Very interested in understanding all the possibilities of geohashing

Can you explain the geohashing?

What is it?

Think of latitude and longitude coordinates but my house’s back porch would look like #c29a5ff56 or something similar.
