I did! I had an LND node running for Alby Hub, so had to spin up a CLN node as well.

It’s a good feeling isn’t it?

I downloaded datum and solo mined for a few weeks. (Obviously didn’t hit a block lmao)

Just switched to the Ocean pool 3 blocks ago.

Let the Ocean revolution begin.

Do I need to take bitcoin core of and use bitcoin knots instead. Does lnd still work?

You do need Knots for Datum to work. All other Start9 Bitcoin services still run fine (LND, Alby Hub, electrs, Mempool, etc.). You keep the BTC blockchain and sort of convert Core over to Knots: https://community.start9.com/t/installing-bitcoin-knots/1997/4

I used this guy’s tutorial as a guide to get Datum and CLN running with Bolt12. Too bad I can’t find him on Nostr, or I’d zap him v4v: https://youtu.be/BQ6Hax3wcY8

how do you construct your own block

Begin by running a Start9 server (you may also be able to do this on Ubuntu, but I’ve not played with that). Once your server is running, install Bitcoin Knots and download the BTC blockchain. Then install Datum Gateway, which is what you’ll config to begin constructing your own blocks. You’ll also want to install Core Lightning and setup a Lightning node if you want to collect your share from the pool over Lightning rather than waiting to accumulate enough sats to be worthwhile to withdraw on-chain.
