This European mind does, and is ever so slightly jealous.. 😳

It always depends on the individuals, but generally we don't care that much about the guns. They are just not a thing here.

What do you recommend for someone who wants to get a gun first time? Is there a brand or type?

Go to a range. Try a few types out, see what fits your hands, what recoil you can handle and feels comfortable to fire.

Also, what do you want it for ? Personal EDC or hone defense??

Eventully both

many considerations for a first-time cordless hole punch owner.

1st: if you don’t practice regularly it’s about as useless as a paper weight. So find out where you can get live reps often & safely in your area.

2nd: go with an expert first, someone who can teach you how to assemble & handle the tool with explicit fundamental safety instructions.

3rd: consider taking some safety courses if you don’t have any experience.

4th: the hole punch market can be pricey, I recommend starting in .22 LR caliber for both rifle & pistole so you can get thousands of rounds under your belt for dirt cheap.

to that end I recommend the glock 44. exact same size as a compact G19, the classic duty hole punch.

.22 rifles are dirt cheap as well and come in endless varieties. Ammo shortages are real, this is probably the most readily available cartridge world-wide.

5th: study the art. watch video. practice.

When you have thousands of reps go try everything and see what you like and feels comfortable in your hands. I like glocks, the 48 slimline is amazing for a concealed 9. But many prefer other makes & models. Comes down to taste and reliability. Too many great rifles to name. Beware, hole punch collecting is hyper addicting!

Appreciate all the details. This seems real proof of work πŸ˜…

definitely

Balkan mind can 🫑

Was about to say that πŸ˜‚

Yea. Mate really is an β€œAmerican” thing.

nor the Aussie mind too

first time on the range in over a year and I think I have to buy more ammo if you don’t practice you get Rusty πŸ˜” stay frosty people! πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ˜

Love this! I shot in my range today and sighted in my converted .22LR for plinking squirrels. When you want those slides cut for optics and a bit of Cerakote, shoot me a message and we'll take care of you. πŸ˜‰

This European mind appreciates everything in this picture, except for maybe the Glock44.

While some European Union (EU) nations have stricter policies on private firearm ownership, there are still several that maintain more lenient laws. Countries such as Czech Republic, Austria, and Switzerland (non EU) exemplify these exceptions. However, despite relatively accessible gun acquisition in Austria, possessing a license to carry firearms for self-defense purposes remains limited primarily to wealthy individuals, private security personnel, or off-duty law enforcement officers.

Which is totally cucked and defeats the purpose.

According to the state, not everyone deserves protection.

not enough tea and scones in this picture

This is for hunting...

.....right?

lol, he lives in some desert part of USA, probably arizona

also, yes, hunting criminals who venture into the property and refuse to leave

there is a sign on a fence on the property next to mine that says:

trespassers will be shot

survivors will be shot again

it might not be portuguese law to allow people to own guns without "reason" (excluding self defense btw) but probably half the population of this island are farmers and shooting rabbits and pesty pigeons is a minimal reason to own both a 22LR rifle and a 20 gauge shotgun, and believe me, when it's planting season you hear the farmers shooting at the pests pretty often, even right next to the airport over in Santa Cruz

i also have seen around the area near the eastern edge of the airport there is a shooting range and goodness me the sound of 12 gauges emanating from it was a song to my ears

btw, also during january, which seems to be when there is a lotta planting of crops, this valley (sao vicente) rang out with the sound of fireworks that are not for show, they just go up in the air and one big bang, not celebratory fireworks, i can speculate that the reason was to scare off the pigeons that hunt the seeds they plant in the ground, kinda glad that shit stopped now but i suspect most of it was legit agricultural purposes

the European Monday will start needing to comprehend

This looks like freedom
