Right which is why they spend so much money and effort building hardware and protocols that secure your messages. Must all be for show.

Apple really fights for your privacy and all those pushbacks against the CIA/FBI we all heard about where 100% legit.
Jesting aside, I do think apple is working to build a SECURE framework for its users, read: against hackers and such. All of that is for very little if your data is leaked to government agencies.

I mean .. what is the point of mirroring iPhone on Mac ! Apple must have spent millions to get this feature developed and rolled out billion plus devices .. what value ?
The point is this is how big tech keep loading blaoatware .. and then keep upgrading the hardware ..
And ofcourse, bloatware means bigger security risks :-) ..
Touch ID , FaceID .. other supersets of bloatware .. when all you need is just an npub :-) ..
Npubs and nsecs would be terrible if they had mass adoption. They are not meant for that. There is no way to rotate them and people lose and leak their passwords all the time. Appleโs multifactor authentication system exists for a reason.
If they upfront know they will not be able to rotate / restore them .. they would never lose ..
If some still did .... well too bad .. hard discs crash too ..

What features we will lose though? One of the last iOS updates I lost the ability to sync music using iTunes because all of a sudden I needed to โupdate iTunesโ which just actually bricked my iTunes because my MacBook is old and no longer officially supported. Gotta love planned obsolescence
This is why I have my hand built desktop environment in nixos. Itโs my happy place that noone can change from under me.
I donโt really use my mac as my daily driver, I donโt trust big tech to not screw up my dev environment with every update.
Oh Yeah that MacBook happily runs the latest fedora and my main machine is running Ubuntu. I only kept macOS to move music to my iPhone and now I cannot even do that

which distro do you run on it? I recetly switched from Arch, btw, to Nixos. :D Both flies on it like crazy, the only thing I dislike about it is the LAN through adapter... :(
All my machines run nixos using the same config: my desktop, my laptop, my servers, etc
