Oh and also, I'm just waiting for more domain specific models. BloombergGPT is a good example, but there will be many many more as time passes and more people see the returns.

Yeah, I can see how it would be useful to integrate an LLM with something like Zendesk to help customer support people get answers about how to help customers, as one example.

Some people talk about replacing customer service people with AI directly, but that is not something I would do. But using it to augment junior support folks with the wisdom of senior tech support folks could be a huge win.

But lots of internal AI functions will be complicated to use with a hosted AI service like ChatGPT. Having a model you can run on your own hardware/network will be important for most companies.

You're absolutely right about that, but they're going to maintain a walled garden for as long as possible.
