Wow. Do you think small banks are going to see mass withdrawals on Monday?

Some maybe. Depends what policymakers do.

Most banks are not as vulnerable as Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic.

Any chance the fed announces rate cut Monday or discount window to sell the bonds with unrealised losses?

Judging by bitcoin going up in orderly fashion after the bailout for depositors was announced, there won't be any real drama tomorrow.

What percentage of the general public do you think follows this sort of thing?

Hey Lyn .. small tip if you want images to render in most clients. Put the link to the jpeg or png instead of the webp ones

βœ…

Ty for your content ⚑️

+1

Thank you for including the meme for those of us on the left side of the bell curve.

This is why #[2] is awesome and can teach everyone about the economy! She's like a translator of sorts πŸ˜„

This is amazing πŸ˜‚

Why do big banks keep more cash % on average? Is it because small ones are trying to get more yield?

Would it make any difference if they would keep the same ratio or they would still be in trouble?

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ and now the #federalreserve are considering easing terms of banks’ access to its discount window. Aka giving firms a way to turn assets that have lost value into cash πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Why does every link say β€œvoid”? Do links only last a certain period of time?

Always love your memes Lyn! And thank you for the content

Lyn pls for the love of everything, start using #[2] for uploading 😭😭😭 I’m tired of these links!! Lmaoooo just a pro tip!! nostr.build is the site btw, this is what it looks like for me & everyone else:

It may be Damus support for webp, or an issue with how Samus parses external links, let’s see which it is, positing the same link below in Damus..

https://void.cat/d/FqZGqSdSPKtV2sr3JxYQBa.webp

Yeah, it’s a parsing bug in Damus getting links from other clients.. If there isn’t a proper line break after the link, it doesn’t show in Damus..

Oh yeah I can def see it now, good explanation my fren!

Looks fine for Amethyst users

Haha "the fdic limit is now infinity"

"From a depositor perspective, banks are basically highly-leveraged bond funds with payment services attached, and we treat it as normal to keep our savings in them."
