Even on development level, relying on extensions for login is a significant bottleneck in the current nostr web ecosystem. It really frustrating.
we can't talk about onboarding problems when we can't even log-in securely at speed
I built a Rust version of NosterNet that is 8x faster than the current version, but it lacks extension support. Consequently, I can't launch it because I don't want users to enter their private key on websites within the app.
There are many other examples, and we are taking too much time to solve this fundamental problem.
