Dang it. I should have thought of that

That's what I've been saying...

I've been using it for like a year, what did I miss?

It was made unavailable to download in app stores in the US back in May.

Or, at least, in certain regions.

gotta disagree fren, while the app was available they basically said you're at risk of losing sats in channels u opened through us

I saw this but I decided to call their bluff and see it as just a cover your ass statement to be able to say they had no intention of serving customers in the US.

Even if they force close your channels you can recover them manually. Even if you lose the app you can get it on GitHub and connect over TOR. Or if the node is offline, use the app to force close from your end. I really didn't see any reason to get spooked.

I understand but considering mutiny shut down, wallet of Satoshi also went down I think there was more to it than just reroute where you get your app...

I had already installed through obtainium. Maybe I'm ok with that risk but at the time it was enough that I couldn't recommend a normie go install phoenix and risk sats

To me that's the bar for a lightning wallet

That's fair, because even with phoenix you'd need to know what to do if disaster struck to even do it.

For a normal person I'd just say go with Strike in the US and WoS elsewhere. Or now the Primal wallet and NWC which is just Strike anyway.

I never deleted it so I was able to keep updating it and using it
