Since they won’t allow me to have chickens, I tore down and returned what materials I could and salvaged the rest then turned it into a garden bed. This is the first one at the new house. It’s no piano but it’ll do just fine.

Do they ever define what “farm animals” are? Would something like quail skirt around restrictions?
Quail was on the list surprisingly. But I could have done rabbits. I was just really committed to laying hens and that’s what I did all the research and planning for. The two main things were soy free eggs and having my young daughter be part of everything. I’m not happy about but I’m just moving on.

How much is the fine to say fuck it and do chickens anyway?
It’s a bummer that there are regulations for animals that help families and harm no one, but make allowances for dogs that bark at all hours (no hate on dogs, just making a point).
