25-50 depends on how they treat it, the more they meddle the quicker the adoption

I agree, is it a check m8? They ignore it, it continues. They attempt to stifle and cause attrition, it demonstrates and hardens its distributed nature and resiliency.

Catch 22, they are going to happen either way they act

50/50

Imo I think <50% but maybe I underestimate.

I would say gov influence on Bitcoinโ€™s adoption is 40; and on Bitcoinโ€™s longevity 0

Depends on which governement. Iran and North Korea do a damn effective job of restriction and seperation from world

I always think of China trying to ban it almost 10 times unsuccessfully. It is a game of whack a mole

If they are cooperating and promoting Bitcoin they could accelerate adoption tremendously. Take a look at El Salvador. You can spend Bitcoin almost everywhere there now, so that's like a 99.

If they are resisting Bitcoin adoption they can only slow it in their own jurisdiction. China banned Bitcoin mining and it all just moved out. While adoption in China slowed, I'd argue the ban increased the adoption rate elsewhere, so I say the overall effect was around 0.

Love your takes Crizzo. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Could be a negative correlation. More they try to ban it the more the people who really need it will hold on harder

Trying to stop bitcoin is like reaching for a quarter in the crack of a car cushion. The more you reach for it, the father it falls away from your grip into the abyss. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘‰

I keep going back and forth in my mind over whether a #CBDC and #digitalID will accelerate or dramatically stall adoption.

These things could push many into bitcoin as an escape hatch or make onramping too hard for most normies to attempt. At least in the West.

No LN Addy, so I'm sending you a 50 sat IOU.

I say bring on the CBDC. Force their hand. Bring it on. Let's see what they've got. I believe in the human power and the IDEA of btc is much more powerful than any human putting ink on paper.

I believe governments have an 80 on adoption until they push to far and make btc more immediately necessary. 0 on longevity. There will always be demand for hard unconfiscateable money

I think #[2]โ€‹ is spot on. The โ€œgovernmentโ€ is the one that controls the current monetary system so they will fight like hell to reduce the amount of human based energy put into Bitcoin, try to scare people away from it, but fundamentally #Bitcoin only works in one direction ๐Ÿ“ˆ
