Classic spam filter. Lots of duplicated events. If you follow the account you see it, but if you don't follow Amethyst will place it in the spam bin.

Does that apply to DMs as well? I’ve been doing some testing and my DMs seem to have to stooped working with Amethyst only.

In theory yes, but the user has to repeat the same message 5+ times.

Otherwise, it's something else.

What's happening on your DMs?

I send an authorization message, the client replies with ‘ok’ - works fine with primal and damus, but that ok reply gets intercepted somewhere by Amethyst. I have my own relay so I know it’s not the relay. Is there something in Amethyst that blocks repeated dms?

ohh no, the spam doesn't affect relay operations. What's your relay address so that I can test?

wss://relay.nimo.cash

hum.. how do I trigger the AUTH request for your relay? I am sending messages and filters but the AUTH request never comes back. 🤔

I will DM you a link in a few minutes.

hum.,.. is the AUTH you are talking about the relay AUTH message or something else?

DM sent

hum... so, mine worked on the second time. It might be that Amethyst doesn't know where to send the DM to since it's NIP-04 based.

I often hear this from damus users when I DM them, they don't get the first DM. They do get the second (kind4 stuff). But maybe it's a bug I dunno. Now I just DM them twice. For a while I thought they were just elite.

You get a DM, check to see if the one time code is consistent, and then just reply ‘Ok’

Can I disable the spam filter entirely?

You can. Just click on the Security filters on the left drawer.

You can toggle that behavior off if you like in the security filters settings

I toggled off the "filter spam from strangers" checkbox now.

The "spammers" tab is empty. Should there be npubs in there?

Or perhaps that list is people I have actively marked as spam in the client...?

I haven't turned it off, so i wouldn't know, maybe its prepopulated from your follows. I'm guessing the filter changes to only things you specifically allow

Specifically block* 😅 guess my thought drifted there
