Mycelium!!!

Ive buried it all around. Relocated it in many spots and I now have over 100 sq/ft of playground for this wonderful prolific mushroom to flourish.

Garden giants (wine cap mushrooms) living up to their name!

Thanks to a purchase from a local farmer 3 years ago, I now have an endless supply of gourmet deliciousness for years to come.

Yeeee

What was your method to innoculate and is it soil or like wood growing?

I bought a mycelium inoculated kit bag from my local mushroom farmer.

I let it sit in a cool dark place for another month to let the mycelium in the bag grow more.

Over the years previously I had obtained a dozen or so trucking loads of wood chips from my arborist job. Was just filling in my land and levelling off around my gardens. So I had already an abundance of rotting wood around.

I simply broke open the grow kit I purchased and broke it up into 4 chunks and spread it in amongst different spots i knew were heavily mulched from years ago.

The mycelium network will thrive as long as it has a food source (rotting wood).

Really, very cool.

I think so too. Thanks my dude! ๐Ÿ‘Š

Amazing! They donโ€™t grow here. Never had them.

Are they bulbous as well? You may be able to do the same as I and spread the network.

Ive also done it successfully with shaggy manes.

GM from a sick Germany...

Yes, they are bulbous, if they are young. But their vegetation phase is just coming to an end. I can no longer find young mushrooms of this variety. Just 3 snapshots once again. The parasols in the middle of comfrey are interesting.

Don't know what you mean with 'shaggy manes'? I'm German with bad English. ;)

GM!

I was referring to another reply in this thread.

If youโ€™re able to dig up some Mycelium and bury it with wood chips or rotting wood. You may be able to spread the network to produce more fruiting bodies.

Ah yes, do it every day... ;)

For me wood chips are the best food for forest gardens. But you need a little patience until it rots. In my first post on Nostr I posted this image: note1matw5p08zy0nxyhatyplrz8adwta3fydrc9aat9fzyvtekm9ngmq0mmyj7

Very nice. This is the way!

Must have a good connection with an arborist ๐Ÿค™ .

Yes, sometimes they have a lot, but nothing for me yet this year.
