When I went to America I had to try Pabst Blue Ribbon, you know cos of David Lynch and all that. I was surprised at how much it tasted like drinking some stagnant water from a rusty watering can. However I actually quite liked it after the initial shock and would probably drink it again if I could.

Not unlike Labatt's Blue....
Aka every American “beer”
I still think about the taste after all these years lol, it's sort of pleasant no? Or are you not a fan?
If I wanted to drink water I would drink water. If I want a lite beer Mexico has dos xx or corona.
All the brits need to do is go to the “ultra cold” on their ales and you would have the best in the world.
Also most of those American beers are like 4%. 5-5.5 is the Canadian normal
I'm not a fan of ales at all actually.
I rarely ever drink but I'm more into stouts. On the 0% guinness, perhaps I will go to nostr prison for this lol
Nah no ones here to put you in beer jail
wait…
there’s beer jail?
let's find out....
I actually quite like budweiser....
let's see
Used to like it too, now I just make fun of it. 😂🍺
it's like drinking soil, but strangely moreish
little bavarian town in eastern washington has a microbrewery that uses local wheat to make hefeweizen. they serve it in frozen glasses, and the creamy froth makes little ice crystals on the edge of the glass as you drink it.
mind bendingly delicious.
yeah but sometimes you crave the dirty stuff lol, all these sophisticated beers are too complex, I'm not trying to right an essay on my taste buds, I'm just trying to get tuuuurnt
(i've stopped drinking pretty much lol)
Canadian microbreweries for the win
Oooo
Big Rock Trad Ale is a favourite of mine, or Walkerville honest lager are some of the finest.
If I am looking to “drink” Old style Pil gets my bote
I don’t drink anymore. But steam whistle and dispensaire de bière are two excellent microbreweries I remember
American craft beers are usually way higher
Well you are a hipster... 🫣
Is it a hipster drink? It would certainly be in the UK.
Was it a hipster drink before Blue Velvet?
I remember it being dirt cheap, and I thought yeah, it's probably worth what I paid for it lol
Pretty sure it saw a resurgence in New York and then other hit spots, with that crowd yeah. It was like ironic/cheap, and some bars even did promos about it at some point (Thursday dollar pbr or that type of thing).
That's how I remember it anyway, and quick google seems to agree. The company almost died but made comeback in 2001 with youth movement
The only good beers in America are extremely high Ibu & abv
It’s good but it’s no Hamm’s
I'm not particularly fond of it. Your description is appropriate.
Though, It is what I drink when I go to metal shows. Seems an apt pairing.
