Sometimes I listen to songs and after years I finally understand the lyrics and then there are songs I immediately analyze deeply. :D
No one understands me when I tell them that dancing to the macarenna is celebrating a woman who cheated on a guy with his best friends when he went away. 🤦🏻

When I'm programming I can't have lyrics, has to be classical music or drum and bass
When i am reading its the same, but normally I don’t listen nothing at all
Yeah I parse the lyrics carefully and sometimes look them up to check. I don't give open access to my soul, there's checks and balances in place.
I teach our children to do the same, whether listening to music or critically evaluating a movie or considering the overall impact and integrity of an influencer.
It's the least I can do for them.
