That's a dark take on musicians. So they are all will-less?

Yes it is - I hadn’t really taken the quote as something aimed at musicians. The main point I took was when we force the learning at an early age it’s usually driven by adults unmet needs… so it’s breeds an automation, not driven by child’s natural drives

Ok, that makes sense. But the quote you offered is weird to convey that.

Let kids be kids or you get some will-less adults.

agreed - we have to delve into "will-less" and what drives our behaviour. if we are forced into learning, this forcing fragments the child's natural wholeness—separating doing from being, performance from joy, achievement from intrinsic motivation. I think there is still will but it is what drives the will.
