Just finished Human Action from Ludwig von Mises.

Unbelievable masterpiece! He was a next level genius.

Astonishing with what clarity and precision he explains praxeology and economics.

The goal of society should not be to increase standard of living of one group on the cost of another. The goal should be to lift the standard of living for everyone. How to achieve this will be crystal clear to everyone who read this masterpiece!

Nice.

How long did it take you to finish and digest the book?

I’m still making my way through and have had stops and pauses along the way.

I’m also a bit of a midwit too.

I started mid-end of December. Some passages are quite hard, especially the first 100+ pages took me a while, but most parts are just astonishing how neutral and clearly he describes the topics. And most topics sparked my thirst for knowledge again and again. In the end you get rewarded with a clarity which none other book accomplished so far. And you realize that it really takes so many pages to get to this clarity. There is no shortcut, but it’s very rewarding!

There is a podcast show that is audio version of all Chapters. I use this as a companion to the book switching between the two.

I’ll be diving into this in the future. Got the same copy in the queue.

Got through a dozen pages and realized I probably need audio companion to read gooder

Don’t give up, from my point of view the first 100+ pages are the hardest

From my point of view a must-read for every Bitcoiner and everyone who is interested to lift the living standards for everyone and not just steal from another group. Combined with „The Ethics of Money Production“ it gives you an incredible clarity on how genius Bitcoin is from the economic standpoint. Even so if you think you already got it, you will get enlightened 100%! However, we all know that the #Bitcoin learning rabbit whole has no end.

I forget which podcast I listened to and I also picked up this book which is kind of a companion guide to Human Action.

I don’t consider it a short cut but more of a commentary.

Don’t know this one, but to read the full Human Action you definitely need quite some thirst for knowledge on economics. So I guess this book is helpful to make it accessible to a wider range of people.

Yeah for sure.

I’ve read and reread a good deal of Human Action and definitely got some aha moments around the broader concept of acting man before bringing it into a narrower context.

What I do like about Choice is that it meta tags some of the areas Mises writes about and brings his arguments against the German school, priori knowledge, and others into perspective on why he chose to push back on these in the book (some are more self explanatory today than others).

Free!

No midwit has ever read Human Action.

😂

Followed back friend. 🫡 #Plebchain

It's so awesome! I read it back in 2008, during the first Ron Paul Revolution. I read it on my iPhone 3 and it probably took me 3 months.

Ufff, you read the full book on a iPhone 3? That’s crazy 🤯

It took me over three months in book format 😂

It's hard to convey just how excited Ron got us about Austrian Economics, but that's a taste of it.

Love it 🧡

I’m a Ron Paul acolyte from 08. Taught me all about sound money, the fed and sovereignty.

Also learned about the establishment Uni-Party at a very young age. The facade was apparent. 🫡

It must be so frustrating to be him. Guy is and always was way ahead of his time.

He planted so many seeds. It’s all he could really do.

That's quite an achievement. Long dense book that you cannot read while sleepy

Yes, definitely. Feels good! In the end you are rewarded with crystal clear understanding of economics and how unbelievable genius Bitcoin actually is from an economic standpoint.

Objectively everyone’s living standard HAS improved for past 100 years or so. Longer for some countries.

Of course but without interventionism the living standards would be much higher, thats the point.

I'm adding this to my todo note #[0]
