These is absolutely no reason for steam to be so dominant in the game industry. It’s service sucks. Nostr can be a great platform for game developers.

That's a hot take 😅 i've never had problems with steam and kind of always thought that as far as gaming companies go they had one of the better ethos compared to competitors. What's your reasoning?

Steam has horrible publishing process for game developers. It’s just very hard to publish at the beginning. Both in terms of bureaucratic processes and UIUX.
A game discovery websites with global social network reach could be nice. Aka Nostr.
Gamers might care if the price is off by 20% for every game. Developers definitely cares.

I like steam as a game management platform. I can stop gaming and come back 5 years later and everything is still there, I just redownload and I’m good to go. No need to worry about tracking purchases. The account recovery process can be annoying at times.
I think pita approval may actually be good for gamers. Perhaps it stops total garbage from getting in. Maybe with false positives but at least might block some - saving gamer money.
Not too many PC game platforms out there with their own operating system. I particularly like using my gaming rig without keyboard and mouse and they have the best UI for that.
