What would you like to know?

What's the sentiment in Iran about the current regime in charge?

Iran is a country of 90 million. (I'm in the diaspora) It's hard to answer that question. In the same way Americans are divided politically, that's also the case in Iran. I don't believe anyone can answer that questions without inserting their own bias.

Like Iran, I do know lots of people who would love regime change in America. But I don't think they'd want another country bombing us to be the catalyst for it.

So they need balkanization like we do?

How do you get your insights? Media? Family? Friends?

The Iranian diaspora has many ways it stays connected, just like any other global community. But the issue at hand is that external groups want to divide us. We are weaker if divided.

He addresses this well.

It’s been generally a mixed bag, with all the folks that I have talked to. Some are grateful for the help, some, like myself, wonder why the fuck we are there at all.

Despite all of the propaganda, bunker busters are nothing new, whatever they dropped on it, was just a bigger version of a bunker buster. There is no special tech involved, so, the narrative that this was something only America could do, is absolute bullshit.

Our elected felon is trying to take the microscope off of himself because the whole world is laughing at his ineptitude.

If I am looking for someone to sell me some oxyclean, I’ll look to Trump.

It was a complex 12 days of my life. What is your exact question? Talking about the whole thing can take days.

But nostr:npub1acg6thl5psv62405rljzkj8spesceyfz2c32udakc2ak0dmvfeyse9p35c also wrote about it a lot which I agree with most of his ideas.

I have never been to Iran. But I read "All the Shah's Men" (about the 1953 coup d'état) and I follow international relations more than I probably should - certain well known people via YouTube, lots of OSINT people on X, and I even listen to UN security council meetings from time to time. And I share what I think I know.

I'm not clear on what Trump's goals are. It wasn't stopping a nuclear weapon (he knows they were not working on one). But now it seems it wasn't regime change either since it was "one and done". Maybe he was somehow required to do this for Netanyahu, and he did as little as he promised to seal some secret deal. Or maybe he's not done.

As for Iran, everything they do makes sense to me. The IAEA shared details with Israel who used them to assassinate. They also failed to condemn the US attack on nuclear facilities. Iran can't (and shouldn't) trust them anymore, so they are stopping cooperation with them. Of course this makes the chance that Iran develops nuclear weapons higher, not lower.

A lot of bombs fell in Tehran and around Iran. I don't have information on where, or what it was like for Iranians. I'm interested in hearing about that myself.

homeboy just suggested to me that the one and done strike robs war hawks of their biggest talking point

Basically I believe they didn't want to use a nuclear weapon, but they wanted to make one. Also I believe they they still have the capability to make some.

They never should trust those countries. History showed us! But some politicians believe we must negotiate and trust. So in believe they start negotiations again and they will trust again.

About what happened in these 12 days, I'm not in Tehran but I can explain everything I saw or heared from close friends.

The main target was Tehran, but they attacked almost most of cities as I know. They was focusing on military bases and factories making drones and...

For example one of their targets on my city was Iran Electronics Industries or Sairan. You have to read its history, so you can understand the thing better. But basically it was a electronics company founded before Islamic revolution and some sources claim it were competing with Japanese companies like Panasonic. After Islamic revolution, they weren't able to develop it as you may expect. So they just kept existing infrastructure and moved to ownership to IRGC (AFAIK). Now, most of electronic devices used by government (drones, rockets, cars (yes, car factories are owned by government and no body can't enter this field. Only government), satellites used by ISA, some medical devices and more).

So, as you can see it contributes to drone/rockets manufacturing. The reason they attacked it.

Other attacks I saw in my city was 2 drones (probably trying to bombing something) that was destroyed by air defense, I just saw the smoke lines in the sky!

The last they I saw a huge cloud over a military base from my balcony. Later they claimed it was not a successful attack and after defeating the drone it falls on mountain and grasses are burning. (It seems very dramatic, I don't believe)

The rest is my friends information from Theran. Hearing micro UAV sounds above their home, or one of them said after leaving a buliding it got attacked right after and it exploded. And lot of more similar stories.

But it was a long stress fot people on Tehran to get bombed. Our generation never had experienced such thing. Like everyone else in the world in this generation.

But these are what happened from outside. Which is not interesting for me. The interesting part is what happened internally.

Frist part was that most of attacks was controlled inside the country! They had over 700 spies here, counting. Which shows how weak is this intelligence and how corrupt custom(? Is that the correct word) is.

Also there is a possibility that they were built inside the country. IDK to be honest.

On the other hand, they cut off the internet connection. Why?

1. They claimed those drones are controlled using internet connections. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

2. They may do cyber attacks. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

But listen to me, that's not the reason. They just wanted to find a good opportunity to run their local network idea...

After analyzing failed drones it turned out that they were using satellite internet made by an NAL an American company. Modem model was A3LA-R-MOD and sender / receiver was Iridium 9523. With 66 satellites on low earth orbit.

Which means cutting our internet off was not related to drones

Also about the crassfire, some people think it won't work and Iran may become like Lebanon which is on a ongoing war and Israel attacks them anytime they want. But this idea won't makes sense with my knowledge. I think it will work. At least for year. (I hope)

About Trump, no body knows what he wants. He is old crazy shit-coiner randomly posting bullshit on Truth Social. Of these days become part of a history book someday, I'm sure people ignore it.

It was a summary of what I can explain. Based on what I saw and what I think. If you think I missed something I may be able to explain that as well.

Overall I'm happy that it's ended now. Working on huge amount of updates, projects, services, researches and... full-time. 🫡🪼

Also my Nostr experience with limited internet (before full cut, just limited):

1. Primal: Didn't worked.

2. Amethyst: Worked hard and slow with a bunch of relays like nostr:npub1fyvwkve2gxm3h2d8fvwuvsnkell4jtj4zpae8w4w8zhn2g89t96s0tsfuk which I really appreciate it. ( nostr:npub18kzz4lkdtc5n729kvfunxuz287uvu9f64ywhjz43ra482t2y5sks0mx5sz any documentation or write ups about how you maintain wine network configuration?)

Which basically shows Primal is still doing stuff in a centralized way. Amey on the other hand is a pure connection to your relays.

Glad to hear the relay held up for you and thanks for sharing your experience. It’s important for nostr to work in these minimal connectivity environments.

We have four regional mirrors (US East/West, Europe, Asia) behind a load balancer. You’re routed to the closest available mirror relay at the time of connection.

Your welcome. I understand the regional mirrors logic, but the intersting part for me was that how it even can connect to load balancer to connect to closest mirror? Since they even cut the access to cloudflare.

Overall, great job. 🫡

Very interesting indeed!

I wonder of the 700 spies, how many were actually, or do they execute extra people just to be sure given how high the stakes are. I'm sure there is no way for us to know.

I hope the ceasefire holds.

Yes, these are complex stuff and they may release these info years later.

Thanks, I hope too. 🫡

Thank you for sharing your insights.
