My kid's name, address, and SSN got stolen from an incompetently secured database belonging to the third-party contractor handling mailing services for a health insurance company. They knew about it a year ago, but only told us about it now.

But he gets some free credit monitoring, so all is well.

This is his fourth time. Three different health insurance companies (thanks Obama) and the hospital where he was born. I don't know why we even try anymore.

Yeah, medical offices and hospitals are notorious for crap like that. They are obvious honeypots.

not like social security will exist when he's old enough to collect it. but he's not too young to take out a massive loan!
