I would love to host my personal website without having to purchase a domain name.

Of course the relays would be the ones paying for my hosting but I would just run my own relay. I'm more interested in the fact that I don't need a domain name.

That would be revolutionary!

if that happens. i looking to run a relay but just windering what are the risk of hosting.

Often comes down to the podcast test. You're on a podcast, it's wrapping up, 10 seconds left, the host asks: "Where can people find your website?"

In this no-need-to-purchase-a-domain scenario, what do you answer?

you would give them your Nostr address. In your case it's zaps@primal.net

You seem to have a good address too 🤔

Lol thanks.

But that's reliant on Primal's ICANN domain, they could rug me if they wanted. And if I put my NIP05 on an ICANN domain I've registered myself to be on the safe side then what I have escaped?

If you run a podcast or something similar and you get popular then having your own website is what you are supposed to give everyone. On your website it usually have a link to your nostr and other socials and you shouldn't use a primal address if you are popular.

It's that simple.
