I am unbelievably proud right now. My 6 year old son just explained to his mom how Lightning channels work. We had a basic discussion about what is lightning bitcoin vs onchain bitcoin... this was the first time I ever mentioned lightning to him.

10 minutes later, I asked him, if I make a connection with you and we each put in 10 sats... i don't have a connection with mom but I want to send sats to mom... how can I?

He says to me, if I connect to mommy you can send me 10 sats, then I send 10 sats to mommy!

Kids get it and have the capacity to learn so much! It's incredible. We adults have a preconceived notion of how money should work. It's so hard to unwind that and learn a new system. Kids are blank slates and can absorb so much more then we give them credit for.

The future is bright! Feeling max bullish right now.

I connected a different wallet with nostr first. I got several sats over the day. However I switched to WalletofSatoshi now.

Just tried again, still not working. Maybe it's a client issue... I tried zapping u with wos and it said it sent.... but nothing showing on amethyst

Yeah as long as the concepts are introduced at a very basic level, they'll have the capacity to make the connections as time goes on.

Showing real world examples is a great way to help them make that connection.

Magic Internet Money

Recently I sent a Bitcoin transaction from my new hardware wallet (using coin control and custom fees) to an older hardware wallet, and then sent it directly back to the new hardware wallet. Confirmed both transactions on chain in <2 hrs for 6 cents in network fees, but the BTC was worth about 10 dollars more by the time it made the round trip. 😎
