What programming language are NIPs written in?

I had a dev ask me that yesterday and I had no idea how to answer. #asknostr nostr:nprofile1qqsgqke57uygxl0m8elstq26c4mq2erz3dvdtgxwswwvhdh0xcs04scpr9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuun4vf3x2unydakxctnrvvq3xamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wxccrqtnhw3nqz8nhwden5te0d9h8v6tvd3skwefdda6hganfd3kxzem99e3k7mgzf0c7j

markdown

Thanks Will

NIPs are just the spec documents formatted with markdown. Each application then implements the solution according to the spec in whatever programming language the app uses - kotlin, JavaScript, rust, etc...

They're written in English man.

They're specs for the Nostr protocol.

Each app implements the nips in their app as they see fit.

Haha nice man. I guess I have a lot of learning to do

It's not really where I see you focusing your time & attention.

Focus on your strengths & not your weaknesses.

I was once briefly employed as developer/programmer & realised that it wasn't aligned my talents or desires. It was just the logical outcome of 3 years of uni study & it really wasn't for me.

Bitcoin allows us to figure out what deeply excites us & then focus our time/attention on that. It's a beautiful gift.

Thanks brother you're right and I appreciate the thought.

My fiat job was something akin to technical sales. Now I spend my energy orange and purple pilling people. (Among other things)

I'd like to be technical enough to answer basic questions to onboard people to nostr. I certainly don't plan to learn to code personally though.

I'm looking forward to meeting you man. We're very similar.

I know it'll happen when the time's right.

Same here brother. It's inevitable

Same here. โšก๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’œ

Markdown isn't a programming language, it's a text formatting language like wiki text or LaTeX

yeah and he, nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ, who implements markdown in his chat client is a full human... allowing his users to express themselves clearly, with nuance and depth... rather than as caveman with dumbboard.

that we dont have it is a fucking conspiracy I tell ya... but no one cares cuz they dont even know the value of communicating anymore...

who the fuck needs italics, underlining, and boldface WHEN YOU CAN JUST SCREAM IT ALL AT ONCE !?!?

Amethyst used to support markdown. I don't know what happened to it

not there anymore, eh?

never tried out amethyst as i am on crapple, shamefully.
