i guess it just takes time, but i definitely think that my vision is improving.

the problem with my vision is not the usual "lens can't flex" it's the "muscle isn't pulling the lens hard enough" but not just that, there is also a parallax convergence problem.

when i say i think it's improving, text that i previously would have really struggled to read, is a lot clearer now. probably half as much double image as before.

i am pretty sure the primary cause has been sugar and artificial sweeteners, but probably seed oils also, as i can say all of those things were a big part of my diet for the last 20 years.

there is other things they put in energy drinks that are very bad too. idk, glucuronolactone, i forget the other comon one. they are known to have effects on muscles and are added because the ostensible purpose of these drinks is to ttake one directly before a workout or football game or something.

i spend too much of my time sitting quite still and only my eyes and hands are doing anything.

anyway, just kinda happy to report i seem to be getting better convergence and focus now. i hope this continues.

Jealous

nothing to be jealous of. i fell for the artificial sweeteners bullshit and i was drinking a lot of alcohol that was also probably sweetened with it (ciders usually are artificially sweetened these days).

it half destroyed my kidneys, and this led to the vision problem. probably there is some other secondary mechanisms specific to sucralose and acesulfame-k, and i know for sure that maltodextrin (modified mostly corn starch) causes other problems like when i had two weeks of epic toothache from that shit. hell, even today, i eat a tiny pack of doritos with that shit in it and half the day my tooth is flaring (it literally moves upwards from the swelling the sugars stimulate).

you can be jealous of my ridiculously good natural vision tho. optometrist tested me when i was 27 and told me that my vision was 20:15, which means 25% better than average, as in, i can read text at 25% more distance than average.

idk if you ever seen these small 4k monitors but i bought one back in 2017 that was 24" and it was such a huge advance for me, always felt like the corners of the screen were so far away lol. 24" lol.

i'll be happy if i get full convergence back. i'm pretty sure that's all that is screwing up the focus.

Jealous of vision improving, not the slew of ailments haha

Had 2020 vision all life until sorta recently. What a pain in the ass. I complain about it all the time, yet never heard glass wearing people complain about it to me in the past. Surprisingly, given what a handicap it is

yeah, i've been going through that also. i'm kinda surprised that i'm recovering.

you might find that something you were eating or drinking was causing the problem, it's worth a look, because i am certain that's my issue.

in my case it's further complicated because i have celiac. the allergic reaction makes it worse.

It's still mostly for reading, which is a lot of what I do with my eyes these days, but distance is starting to blur a bit too. Annoying af. I'm always sitting down in a deep couch, only to shortly remember I need to get up and grab my glasses, etc. 😤

It came on pretty gradually and at an age where nothing seems suspect as a cause. Hoping it stabilizes in a year or so and then I'll consider lasik

well, idk what's in the food around you, but just that i know for sure this was the root of it for me.

i think probably eating fish helps vision, probably also liver, but in both cases obviously try to get the cleanest source you can. they feed everything with corn these days in europe and that is an allergen for me, the smell of it in the meats makes me sick. even the eggs, i can smell the corn in it. i have to somewhat overcook corn fed meat to tolerate it.
