This reminds me. Our electricity went out last night right in the middle of watching "3 Body Problem" (which you should watch).
Instead of dragging out my little Honda generator out of storage, I rolled this UPS out of the office and used it to run the TV, media computer, and home theater amp.

A guy named Steven Harris put out a video series some years back on how to build a no-frills version. I made a couple that supply backup power for the diesel parking heaters running in a shed and garage. Wish I'd known about this product because I just replaced the batteries in my mine. Mine aren't really portable, and now that I'm sharing a home with a wheelchair user, running drop cords all over the house isn't an option.
3 Body problem was already on my list. My wife tells my son after watching the trailer: you know your dad is gonna want to watch this shit.

I'm liking it because it's both dystopian, and suspenseful. Currently at S01E03.
After a 2-year wait, we just started season 2 of "Outer Range".
Season 1 was confusing and difficult to follow, but with good cinematography and acting.
Season 2 is turning out to be more of the same. ☹️
