If you’re having a conversation with someone and I think it’s interesting to people who follow me I can ‘quote post’ it for other interested people to see it.
Unless you’re saying you’re not interested in others seeing it?

What I’m saying #[0] is that doing what I’m doing right here makes it obvious that I’m talking past you instead of to you, because rather than feeling confident in myself I need to appeal to my followers for validation. If it was merely about helping others see an interesting conversation then I could just repost, and continue replying in the actual conversation thread.

Depends how you use it, no? I’m guessing you’re assuming it’ll be used for one-up-man-ship and to belittle the people they’re quoting? Doesn’t have to be. I’m all for Nostr not turning into Twitter but that’s less to do with a client’s features and more to do with people being dicks
Yes. Sometimes it’s useful to amplify a good note. I usually go to the original note too, so it depends on the viewer too.
