I write my journal in plain text (markdown) and edit using qownnotes / helix on linux and quillpad on android.
And then I sync the folder with git. Not the best UX but it's software agnostic and lasts forever.

joplin is markdown too, i love this format
helix is such an underrated editor (though i'm somewhat used to vim shortcuts)
My laptop is a potato so I tend to avoid electron apps. 😅
I switched to helix from vim for its selection based (visual and interactive) editing model and builtin features.
I can still use vim too. After all its syntax is just reverse. For example 2dw in vim is 2wd in helix.
