Joplin is amazing actually. I have discounted many apps like joplin, logseq and trillium because the idea that a notes or todo app needs a web browser inside it triggers my ocd.

But I guess electron is inevitable 🥲

I am looking for a native android app to organise my life.

I am blown away by jtxboard. It supports todos, daily journals, notes, reminders etc. It even has recurring tasks, comments, collaboration etc.

It's true you have to start. After all you miss all the shots you don't take. I have started building some habits too for the new years.

Do you mean 'never miss twice in a row'? Makes sense.

The funny thing about reminders is that I don't need them for a while. I just remember.

Then I neglect them for a day or two and continue doing so for the rest of the year. 😅

My laptop is a potato so I tend to avoid electron apps. 😅

I switched to helix from vim for its selection based (visual and interactive) editing model and builtin features.

I can still use vim too. After all its syntax is just reverse. For example 2dw in vim is 2wd in helix.

The universe had been really kind to me in 2025. As I carry that privilege into the new year, it's only fair that I make a resolution that everyday I will:

1. Workout for 5 min.

2. Meditate for 10 min.

3. Spend 5 min in nature.

4. Eat and sleep a bit better.

5. Reflect and write one line in my journal.

6. Replace 10 min of doomscrolling with creating something and reading.

7. Remember to let go of perfection and grudges.

I write my journal in plain text (markdown) and edit using qownnotes / helix on linux and quillpad on android.

And then I sync the folder with git. Not the best UX but it's software agnostic and lasts forever.

It's quite hard to turn off work mode for me as well. I go off the grid from time to time - like on meditation retreats, hikes etc to recover my brain.

Healthcare narratives be like:

"You are deficient in these vitamins. Buy these supplements."

Meanwhile the 80-90% of humans suffering from adult dehydration get neglected because cups of water don't sell that well.

Let's make it a point to stay hydrated. 🙌
