Primal doesn’t even read a single event from the relays you added.

Shame

I did a packet capture and it does open connections to them but from what I understand that is only used for writes. If you block the cache with a firewall Primal stops working.

Yes. Only writes

I don't understand how anyone can even use primal.

🤷

It works and doesn't have a disgusting UI. And Damus for Android hasn't been released yet.

Unable to use the wallet in Canada

Nope. It only reads from their cache. And there's no option to use your own relays, so suck it up.

Somehow I feel like these points were brought up and discussed in recent past and people settled on not giving that client any more attention.

The only difference this time is the greater adoption of this client because a few interested parties are talking up their book. You see key people signal their use of it and the rest slowly fall in line. I caught myself before doing the same. I knew better too.

The product is a great experience compared to how nostr is supposed to work. Fast which is a huge benefit for those coming off centralized platforms as they will feel no strange behavior. Maybe it may help bridge people into nostr, but no one is going to leave that experience and use other clients if the overall experience suffers.

I understand the importance that nostr must win and to do so the onboarding and overall experience has to be flawless. But in doing it in this way, it ruins the essence/spirit of nostr and what it stands for.

I had no idea. So if it ultimately can stop the flow of information, then it defeats one of the fundamental advantages of using nostr.
