Onboarding sucks, I get that, but you're here to help them there. Have them follow everyone that you're following. What specifically needs to be easier?
They tell me just setting up the private and public keys, stresses them out.
I’ve onboarded a few.
But it was the same with #bitcoin four years ago when I was trying to onboard ppl … now they come to me.

we dont talk bitcoin among friends, we respect each others financials and privacy.
now, my BF uses instagram a lot because he is a professional photographer, I can see that and it’s his business, I cannot take his time and tell him to come to this place, even if this is my favorite, it doesn’t suit him or his needs (at least yet).

She just doesn’t have the bandwidth for more apps, as she puts it. In her case I don’t think she’d try Nostr even if it were extremely user friendly and straightforward to start using.
I also think she’s a bit blackpilled on social media interactions in general. She’s still on Facebook, but I think mostly for the groups. Having something more topical group-focused or group-enabled on Nostr, like Reddit or even Facebook, would be a draw for many people I think (I would also use it heavily)
I agree. I believe communities will be a huge draw for Nostr once we get more clients to support them and also if/when we get private communities.
As for your bestie, that beautiful. I always say that nostr:npub1jrcfyw8n298jf83txvlxzx0w7jtfwqs0j4ha0dnn9ns33hgm209sqejdcc is my best friend. I couldn't imagine anyone else having that role.

All of my friends don’t use social media.
A dozen people tried it.
They ditched it pretty quick.
For extraverts : audience is too small.
For introverts : no enough content.
People outside say it's a crypto-bros echochamber, and they are not too wrong. 95% of the people outside do absolutely not care about Bitcoin and stuff, and to be true it's hard to find content not related to that here.
95% of content here is like Bitcoin fixes this. Bitcoin this, Bitcoin that. Bitcoin. And Bitcoin. Every single day the same. All day long.
