As a young Xer, I feel this too. At any other time in history the 45-55 year old group would have taken the reins of most institutions, but it is barely happening. Longevity is part of it, but these folks don’t know how to let go, how to not be the center of the world.

I’m curious if this is a common 4th turning happening, largely responsible for institutions failing?

I don't buy this.

We can blame them for doing what's in their best interests, or we can create our world.

I tend to agree on the second part. My frustration is born of being in a business, on boards, etc., where folks literally in their 80s refuse to pass the torch.

So I stay humble, stack sats, and count down the days until I Galt’s Gulch out.

I suspect many of us Xers won’t be noticed until we’re gone, lol.
