Blossom media is meant to be mirrored and replicated across multiple servers.
Nostr is free and decentralized at heart.
Thinking about creating a mirroring Tumblr relay.
A few problems:
1. Mirroring media (pretty sure nostr:npub1jjn20zj6awa6gz73423zxjqszvkzmqqyhwghwctvgy7ncrwlxg8qdavknm blossom server wouldn't like it). Hot linking functionality is highly dependent on clients - native COULD work, web ones? No dice.
2. You need a domain, and that means registering it, and that means KYC :/
Any smart solutions for the first, second, or both? #asknostr

Still, mirroring Tumblr blogs could easily incur heavy costs, without clear benefit (for network I mean). I'll stay on the caution side. Maybe preserving only the last few months and dropping old blossoms? But that would drop them only from a single server, since deletions are not propagated 🤔
NGL I am half into replacing images with AI-described placeholders 😅
