My people 💖😅🥰

theyre b1tc01n nerds, anyway welcome, please bring more of youre friends and fans here

Honestly, as an AuDHD person, it’s rly peaceful here. 💖 I’m 99% sure this platform is going to get really popular among neurodivergent ppl just bc it’s small n easier to connect w ppl.

We should start advertising nostr as the social media choice for sensory deprivation.

For completeness, I should add there is also pixelfed and the recently released loops on the decentralised fediverse. I wouldn't necessarily call it less censored than IG/ tiktok, but the censorship decisions are certainly politically different.

For real, tho! 😅

Yeah… as a non-dual, compassionate queer afab feminist who values agency n sexuality, I imagine there’s… a different sort of censorship on other platforms 😅Yeah- I’m downloading different platforms rn, trying them out. 💖

That’s def one way to catch a fish! 😅

Nostr isn't really meant for images, videos and audio, however.

Valid. I like it as a Twitter alternative. Mastodon is good for the other stuff, as r some other things I’m trying out 💖

I think the best use case for Nostr is as a text-based Twitter-like decentralized and censorship resistant social media platform.

The issue with Mastodon is that Mastodon, using the ActivityPub protocol, is not censorship resistant and that your identity is tied to one instance.

There are some ActivityPub instances which do happen to have permissive policies, however, although that is not the same as censorship resistance. An example of that is minds.com (which is not Mastodon-based, but does support ActivityPub. Their Nostr support, on the other hand, is broken), but there are also free speech instances of more common software (Mastodon, Pleroma and the like).

Oof I read the terms n conditions of Minds n was like, NOPE. 😅

I also genuinely think there is going to b a greater need for decentralized social media, n when there’s greater need, there’s more ppl working on it, so we will probably see a lot more innovation n working out the kinks (lol) over the next four years.

Haha yeah follow me on Mastadon n Orb! 💖

Yes, really.

For example, you just posted the URL of an image hosted on a centralized platform external to Nostr, one which can absolutely censor that image.

URLs are text and posting a URL to an image doesn't mean that image is hosted on Nosr any more than posting my home address would mean my house is then physically hosted on Nostr.

That’s a really good analogy, actually.
