Text is cheap, it doesn't take much storage or bandwidth, so it can be replicated across multiple hosts at little cost.

For example, you just posted the URL of an image hosted on a centralized platform external to Nostr, one which can absolutely censor that image.

URLs are text and posting a URL to an image doesn't mean that image is hosted on Nosr any more than posting my home address would mean my house is then physically hosted on Nostr.

Nostr isn't really meant for images, videos and audio, however.
