Wow. If that's really what happened it's beyond inappropriate. Aside from the problems with a teacher injecting their personal political views in the classroom, telling this stuff to a bunch of 8 year olds is malpractice. The school should temporarily suspend her while conducting an investigation, and if the allegations are substantiated through evidence, she should be terminated, or sent to a rubber room if her termination isn't possible due to union contract guidelines.

We’re working on building the available evidence to mount a complaint. We heard the politics thing from another kids parent who is in his class.
Have you guys already reached out to the principal or school superintendent? What was their response? Were they dismissive, or did they appear to be concerned and willing to objectively seek out the truth?

The problem with the misgendering is that they leave no space for good-faith mistakes, or simple forgetfulness. And that's really counterproductive because they're alienating people who would otherwise be accepting of them. It's gotten a little militant. I don't care if people want to referred to in a certain way. I'm respectful of others and wouldn't go out of my to hurt them. But I'm a human being who doesn't always get it right. And when I make a mistake, it's not due to some malignant passive-aggressiveness. It's just because I made mistake. I think that reasonable space has to be restored
