Just did a 3 day water fast and slid into carnivore for a week. It was terrible. Worse than fasting. Had the shits. Terrible energy. Horrible mood. Fatigue. Was doing all the right stuff (fats, electrolytes, etc). Sure I cut weight but who wants to eat like that? It's like a playing music with 3 notes. Highly dont recommend it.

I’ve been doing carnivore for a year and have never felt better. Had no issues with bowel movements or feeling poorly - only improvements. Maybe you’re not fat adapted at all and struggled?

I’ve heard of the “keto flu” where people who aren’t adapted to ketones and have a physical addiction to carbohydrates and sugars experience flu like symptoms while they withdraw and recalibrate. Maybe that was what you experienced.

Also, I look forward to my meals. I buy very good beef and know how to cook it perfectly so my meals always turn out delicious.

Are you 100% off sugar or just processed sugars?

I occasionally eat a small amount of fruit as a treat but day to day I eat 2-3 lbs of beef, ≈5 grams of sea salt, a few slices of sharp cheddar and 2-4 eggs over medium and that’s it.

Could be....although I eat super clean. No sugars. Only honey. Very active. Was crushing karigold, talo, and all the fats. I buy a whole beef every year. Single source. Got half angus and half wagyu this season. Turned a corner on day 7 but wasnt worth it. I love gardening and vegetables. Leaned out for sure...and keeping the ketosis flowing. No sugar. No fruit. Less than 20 carbs. Going to carb load before the next big windsurf session and see if it gives me an extra boost. Fun experiment, except for the brain fog and old faithful bowels and constant hunger pains. haha.

Certainly if you have a broken body

Optimal is optimal.

Optimal for what? There’s always tradeoffs
