I respectfuly disagree.

Engaging with the content you like and people around it works just fine.

Creating content you canā€˜t find has a slower start but if one puts the work into it, plus engage with those who might find it cool, people here are very supportive (at least thatā€˜s my experience).

In the end, Nostr - meaning this social network alternative - in 2025 really isnā€˜t about follower count and likes (and Iā€˜m saying this while I hate to hear it from others 😁), but more about finding your tribe, or building one.

It is true though that when you download primal you are recommended all the accounts of the people who run primal. I’ve heard numerous people complain about this. I don’t necessarily have a problem with it it’s their client they can do what they want and I can decide who to follow etc.

Nostr is great but the reality is that most people want to be spoon fed content through an algorithm that harvests their data. IMO we are still quite early for nostr to gain significant traction outside of the ideological freedom lovers and bitcoiners.

I hope things change and I think they will as centralized social gets even shittier and Nostr improves.
