What’s the best wallet for a 7 year old to receive some gifts in sats?

What’s it being used for?
My kids use WOS for small amounts
Trezor for savings. They are under 10.
Phoenix or Muun come to mind, but also interested in what others think.

Honestly, I found Muun to be the most child friendly 🥲
My four year old learned using it, but I am not crazy about their approach to lightning.
She is five now and I am going to get her using Zeus, she can navigate it pretty well, but I haven't perfected custodial lightning accounts with my node yet.
I've heard this kind of comments regarding Muun, but I haven't learn enough about ln to get them, I suppose. Would you explain to me a little of what makes muun's implementation so 'icky' for some bitcoiners?

Well, I use it from time to time with zero fees, so I didn't thought that, but I get the point
Yes exactly. The fees are low until they aren't. They do the submarine swaps behind the scenes and you get dinged for them later. You can argue it it the price of convenience, but it isn't very transparent and I don't like that.
The other thing is they have a proprietary backup which is highly annoying. Why not just BIP-39?

I would say Ledger Nano if it is for the long-term. Otherwise WoS.
For the family, I would be suggest “layer 3” style overlay self hosted wallet/account system like LNBits running on your own LN node. (Analogous to “pocket money = L3”, it’s your money after all). The major lightning wallets are basically just this anyway on someone else’s L2 sats; you are an account in their liquidity network. Getting more folks to run nodes and host their own “LN wallets” is the way we build out this tech!
