The 2.4ghz range does not make sense for this stuff anyway, regardless of the modulation. Now i have no idea why they dont put 915mhz into phones (seriously...if anyone has a good (technical) reason i'd like to hear), but that would help out a lot.
Why does bitchat use ble and not wifi?
In my nostrmesh proposal I suggested wifi & ble, the range of wifi is often triple ble. Ble would work fine in a busy building, but would struggle beyond that.
