My wife has a much older half sister.
Theyâve always had an estranged relationship.
One time they were having friction and the half sister was going to send her a letter to express how she felt about things.
I had met this woman a few times and was always nice and cordial to her, even going out of my way for her and her daughter to take them to the airport, buy dinner or tickets etcâŠ
The letter arrives and before my wife opens it we go for a small walk and I tell her to try her best to reconcile because family is family etcâŠ
Finally my wife opens the letter and half the letter is complaining about me lol
Pure projection, lots of things about me that arenât even true. Mainly she was jealous about our marriage and the fact that my wife is a stay at home mom.
I was like this crazy bitch lol no wonder nobody in the family likes her.
At that point I told my wife I wasnât going to give her any advice and she can have whatever relationship she wants.
They havenât spoken since.
The point of the story is this, you never know who is sticking up for you when you arenât around.
Try not to burn bridges unless you absolutely have to.
