Putin thanked President Trump for attention to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
We are on the brink of a ceasefire for the first time since fighting began in February 2022.
Trump is already overly aggressive with his “if Russia doesn’t agree, we’ll use more super-sanctions” and “the world will be disappointed if Russia refuses” rhetoric which means he knows his conditions are not going to be satisfactory to Russia.
I agree, but I think he knows that the ultimate barrier to peace is actually Zelensky and the dangerous rhetoric that Europeans employ which makes it almost impossible to make any sort of meaningful concessions to the Russians.
These guys still think they can win.
