We could have a recording of everything that has ever happened on Earth since the first amoeba and people still wouldn’t agree on history.

Not sure I agree with this

Sorry, couldn’t help it. Too easy. But yeah, history complex topic when personal, familial, and tribal perceptions come into play. If couples argue about what happened last week, how are entire societies to understand ramifications of millennia, even when documented?

Exactly. And how are we supposed to trust “sources” documenting these topics?

Indeed. You reminded me of conversation years ago. A guy at the table mentioned some historical thing that had occurred and a friend of mine said that wasn’t actually probably what happened even though it’s the accepted narrative. The chap got slightly put out at being called up and asked where the hell my friend got his version from. The answer stunned the table into silence: “that’s just under 1600 years ago and one of my ancestors was travelling around the region and kept a journal. I’ve looked through it. Should you ever want to see for yourself, happy to take you to the family home in Iran. I think you’d find it interesting”

Cultures have very different time references too!

sounds like scientism

On the the first day God say let there be light (and amoebas). People clearly forget the second part of his first day.

That first amoebe was a notorious scammer.

Truth does not matter to people.

It only matters to them what they believe.

That video of a fish crawling out of water for the first time is a fake! Just like the moon landing!
