Are private Communities / Groups possible on nostr? Only members of the group can see the notes there, even if you follow someone who is a member of the group you wouldn't see the notes by that member unless you are part of that Community. That sort of thing.
Is that possible now/ever?
no need to use nostr for everything

true, I was just sort of thinking of Communities more like a message board / forum, rather than a subbreddit
Ok let's say that I've not heard that.
to solve any problem, with json in WebSocket, is understandable, but very primitive and certainly unrealistic 😅
