Why do people keep trying all these new centralized networks when there is so much new stuff being built out on #nostr? I canโt keep up here let alone chase something else, lol.

Shinny object syndrome
I think it has to do with signing in etc people are lazy to take self control on anything
Keys etc
Because they donโt know about it. I talk about nostr a lot within developer circles and I have yet to meet a single person whoโs ever heard of it
I was refreshing my memory on NIPs yesterday and was just sitting there like, "Damn, Nostr is such a beautiful protocol"
The fact you could do even bash one-liners to fully delve into the network...I just love that.

I tried Bluesky because I work in Social media and our business account was looking at creating a presence there. I didn't really enjoy it. This place is far more exciting for me ๐คฉ
I'm still pestering our director of marketing to find a way to get an account set to here. I haven't been so excited about technology possibilities since the internet ๐
Thatโs awesome! I hope you can win them over to here ๐ค
Iโve seen a lot of people trying out Threads today then complaining about how crappy the experience is and how much data they collect, and I was considering how many things I have yet to try on nostr and Iโve already sampled a lot ๐
Normies arenโt going to join nostr until we get web of trust working, and polish it enough that it allows them to do things that simply cannot be done on legacy platforms. Or can be done, but not as well. Better personalized content feeds, for example.
