I often hesitate whether to write in English or Czech. Would it make sense that some relays would only share notes in a particular language?

And then, for example, if @giacomozucco writes something, I would only read his English posts and ignore the Italian ones. 🤔

Or is it better to auto-translate it? Different language often means different context.

in my opinion, just say it in English, as whenever I see auto-translated notes, I somehow develop some kind of induced headache, as the auto-translation is almost hopelessly unintelligible

I think auto-translator is good for those who can hardly speak straight English, but whatever the case, everyone's welcome here on #nostr

Two accounts might be the most simple solution. Maybe link to them in Bio, so that people are aware of both.

Maybe then if I could connect both to a client, and it would automatically sign the notes with my English/CZ npub dependent on the detected language, that would be cool.

If I open Amethyst, it translates all to russian, but I mostly use nostr:npub1plstrz6dhu8q4fq0e4rjpxe2fxe5x87y2w6xpm70gh9qh5tt66kqkgkx8j

It's up to clients devs to implement some translator i think.

I also think switching between relays might be interesting. different feeds for different topics.

Like there could be relay gropus for communities or something.

Not sure if filters aren't better though.

This all could be resolved just on client layer.

Could is a keyword. I can imagine specialized relays. Actually, something like a read only relay makes it a blog service

I believe that relays like these already works. For example mostr.pub, which mirrors fediverse accounts to Nostr.

right. And you could also create paywalls this way ... not sure if there is a nip for that.

you could also pay someone for filtering shit that matters to you. Possibilities are endless

I think it doesnt require nip. You simply allow connection after the payment. Nostr.wine relay is already paid.

I just can't keep up!

Nostr community is developing unbelievably fast 🤩

Unless I react to something in a language other than english in which case I use that language, I use english exclusively. Most native Czechs (at least here) do speak english, but the inverse cannot be said.

However this is most likely just a temporary issue. Amethyst for example already has auto translations implemented. Other clients will likely follow that path soon. (or find another solution)

Exactly I was thinking about the same and having the same decision making problem.

Not all content is relevant in English. You can share an article...

There could be multiple approaches at play, but I am a fan of relay-based filtering. Clients would have to get a little fancier for this, though.

more-speech actually has a way to configure relays per person that would work fine for this today.

I vote for specialized relays by topic and/or language.

trasnsate option is cool

رله چبه😬من تازه اومدم جریانش رو نمیدونم😅

این کار الان با بعضی فیلترهای رله ها انجام میشه

مثلا رله داریم برای ژاپنی ها
