Happy Friday...! if you are still using @walletofsatoshi or any custodial lightning address... here's your chance to go less-custodial

Either get a vanity address @npub.cash or simply use your npub@npub.cash to see all your zaps flow into cashu wallet...

I think it's dangerous to tell people that a cashew wallet is non-custodial.

Unless you're running the mint It's just not true.

I'm not knocking the tech. (I like and use cashew) It's just not being presented very honestly here.

What is the better way to communicate to a non technical user that walletofsatoshi lightning address is tied to 1 company whereas npub.cash can live independently of lightning mode.

less custodial means your lightning address is not tied to one lightning wallet. you can claim your sats to any cashu or lightning wallet.

Although in terms of custody, you do get to choose which mints you trust all within your Cashu wallet, which IMO is an improvement on being locked into just 1 (like WoS, alby, etc)

Yes, and the tokens are also a bearer asset in that they are saved on the device, but still 100% ruggable by mint.

I am a huge advocate and user of cashu because it allows Nostr Natives to obtain and interact with zaps on nostr until they save enough to potentially move down a layer without creating an account with a company.

0 friction onboard without the hassle of fees, channels, routing, etc. At the expense of using a trusted 3rd party for custodian…which you have options to choose from.
