mmm i dont feel strongly but on balance .. 1 cos slightly more info in the first impression

The contrast is poor (grey on white) on the first one

*grey on grey. Its difficult to see. Black on white is legible

1, with a bit of a darker grey to increase contrast and make it look a bit more slick

First 💯

First one !

if the second one was indented it would look better

i mentioned this before in someone else's critique of design - text that is semantically associated visually should have a common vertical left edge, otherwise it looks like a separate thing

here you are using a box instead, which works similarly but is more cluttered, it's worse the more lines there is cutting things up

1 but with barely perceptible darker gray.

First

First, with the gray

Without a doubt the first

but idk if it makes sense to like or repost an article before reading it

Oh I see. It's purpose is only to show like and repost counts. Makes sense. Also TIL that Substack has a share button on article previews, but no count next to it. A very strange pattern 🤯.

It would be better if it was just a copy link button.

1st

1 - image size is bigger

Yeah, 1.

Why does everything need a 1 or 2 line preview for links? It's a little overboard, especially when trying to sort and visualize. Sub-A, Sub-B, A1, etc.

The first one
