Russia has never interfered in American military campaigns and even supported them, so why would it be different with Venezuela? The only time Russia intervened was in the case of Yugoslavia, and that was done by Yeltsin — and he didn't manage to change anything.

In Syria, the U.S. was formally fighting ISIS, not the official Syrian government.

They didn't lost the port. Russian activity is far less though.
