We need more people writing code, experimenting with it, just having fun. You don't need to start a company. You don't need a brilliant idea. If you don't know how to start, read the code and submit bug fixes for the software you're already using.

For those that do not have the time or skill to code, it would be great to have a market to hire engineers to fix the bugs and add features that are desired to software they are using. This free market can only exist for free software projects. OpenSats and others are providing that, which is great. I think it could be even more direct and advanced and help to determine the priorities of engineering efforts based on the most desired and wanted features.

Yeah, bounties could be a part of this, however these may be more useful for things more open ended like security disclosures. Hiring someone specific, to add a feature or to fix a bug could be better so that multiple people do not accidently work on it, and there is a degree of quality that is expected from the work. This I think is more towards contract work, however groups of people can all pool money for the job, possibly.

I want to learn how to work and contribute to this environment, and freedom tech in general, but the chasm is wide, and I haven't found a lot of resources to learn. I'm a lawyer with an economics background, I've owned crypto for over 10 years, I know light programming and web development. I've read books on tokenomics and DeFi....but getting to the point where I'm building lightning apps and other things that the Madeira crowd is doing...I don't know how to get to that point, and I haven't found many resources that try to teach beyond the basics of blockchain/basic languages/etc. I have the time, resources, and desire. But getting to the next step...I don't know where it is.
