Why is staying in good shape important?

My fuckin mechanic got laid up for 3 weeks trying to turn quickly to get away from a bees nest he agitated above his front door. Torn Achilles.

Stretch, drink water, stay limber or a few bees can put you on the couch.

False equivalence… I’ve seen many warriors hurt theirselves with one turn. Anyone can be in the best shape of their lives & be taken down in a moment.

Also... when chased by anything ... don't have to be the fastest....just not the slowest.

🤔

Staying in shape helps you play pickleball better.

This, unfortunately, is very true. It’s one great virtue.

😂🤣

Play pickleball > do nothing

Barely but true.

Just checkin to make sure it was u…I thought the WoN had hacked ur feed😉😂🫡

Fuk dem bitches.

wat u don't see is that you sound like a no coiner to anyone that's tried it 😂

BTC = Tennis

Game of Kings.

PB is the 💩coin in this example.

😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

tennis is gold, the og, timeless, but slow

pickleball is Bitcoin, it took the best parts of tennis and made it fun, fast, and once you try it you can see it 🫂

Example of this meme 👆👆

It's ok to go tardstr ... but I'd caution going schiffstr

This might be as close as we get to a kumbaya moment in the circle o retarded🤔😂

you win this debate ser, hats off

barely, like Schiff and Saylor but stache came out swinging like Odell

Below $100K again I see.

This BTC maxi community is filled with pussies. Where the fuck are the real Bitcoiners?

HFSP is my clear message to the “community”.

Not you, u good. 👍

Never go full schiffstr

He’s so passionate in his tardness. It’s confusing as hell.

I like the guy. I hope he's acquiring Bitcoin, from the money he's making going full schiffstr.

👀

👀👀

Touché 🫶

I've actually missed his gibrish..and the whole lasered eye son saga 🍿

There has to be more wrong with him to tear his achilles like that. Is he really fat? Like 300 pounds lol

Not fat. No.

Over 45? ….it’s an incredibly common injury in that demographic…even (especially) athletic dudes doing explosive (sometimes not so explosive) activities 🤷🏽‍♂️

….pickle ballers uv been warned🤣

Under 45.

I think there were stairs involved & a tree root.

But my point stands. Stay limber.

Also there’s no evidence that stretching makes you more “limber.” Your ligaments, tendons, and muscles all have a breaking point. Stretching does not change that breaking point. Stretching is a fake and ghey fiat industry.

🙉😂

🤔🤔🤔🤔🧐🧐🧐

That last sentence. Powerful. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

I hate disagreeing with my boy nostr:npub1ghcetnluhryhynhuyj8s2pazldjm27wl40nu6dfeskvpv09twcnsneygat but🧐🤷🏽‍♂️

Ps…I’m still gettin shit from my luvly wife about my @manhhod dyslexic moment 😳😂

It depend on how you do it. Static stretching doesn't really do much for athletes.

Most sport injuries occur while the muscles are simultaneously contracted and stretched.

The best type of stretching is when resistance is added.

👆💯

“Eccentric” contractions (think of when u squat to jump vertically but right before u jump u drop ur butt 2” and explode into the jump) are way harder on tendons and muscles but these are the typical motions of athletics

Isolated/Isometric (avoiding that small eccentric contraction before firing muscle) contractions are effective in strength building but not as effective in practical stretching🫡

👆👆👆👆👌

🎯

We partly moved away from the term "stretching" in athletics, to instead using the term "mobility".

Too many connect stretching to the idea of simply touching your toes.

Mobility resistance training.

I like it🤔👊🏽

Write up the prospectus.

Toss it by nostr:npub134u08yp6rdcgcamfdcra9aysvhne9wpssft8ntm9qvfu95erxdcqx9qjkm for some edits/ideas.

Let’s bring it to market in 2025.

Split it 50/50/50

There’s money to be made here

…it may be a 💩coin…but damnit it’ll be our 💩coin🤣

😂

It will save lives. And Achilles injuries for mechanics.

Let's go!

Add balance in there somewhere. I’m a balance maxi.

Stretching is a neurological adaptation. The more you stretch, the more tolerance you build for stretching. But stretching doesn’t make you more flexible.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19632878/

“As resistance training with external loads can improve range of motion, stretching prior to or after resistance training may not be necessary to enhance flexibility.”

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40279-022-01804-x

Stretching has even been found to weaken your muscles before a workout lmao.

We need comparative studies. Without comparative studies it’s all pointless. The majority of research on physical therapy and stretching presupposes that it is beneficial. So the research on stretching and physical therapy begins with an unproven assumption that it is helpful. But the fact that the comparative studies show no benefit in stretching means that it’s just bullshit fiat medical science. Stretching is a waste of time. Most people I know that see physical therapists don’t get better. People get better despite what the physical therapists tell them to do, not because of.

🤔🧐🔥

Oh damn!…there goes our MRT🧐

And I was counting on my 1/2 of the 50/50/50…heyyy 🤔 …wait one damn minute 😳😂

That's a lot of words, but all I know is yoga good.

Haven’t looked at the research behind yoga but the stretching aspect is no different here. The mindfulness/relaxation can be good for some people. The research isn’t definitive on that though.

Also yoga pants 🔥

You wear yoga pants?

👀

Not that there’s anything wrong with that🤷🏽‍♂️😂

I am a yoga pants enjoyer

👀🧐🤔

nostr:npub17f66kd7kfa47qdu6sh89wdsxpctykym2prrlreudaf3n4wkcf0lq9u92kc too 🤭 🍑

I don’t trust men who wear yoga pants 🤣

🤣🤣🤣

🤔which begs the follow-up q…do women trust men who wear yoga pants?😳

…WoN we await ur response👀

😂😂

I mighta jus throwed up in my mouth a lil bit😳

Oh I don’t wear them I enjoy women that do 😂

U don’t have to convince me my digital brotha🫡

….remember I’m the idgit that thought ur handle was @manhood 😖😂

If I was smart I would’ve known how to change it to manhood

Change the word with to as & it’s spot on.

😂

Unfortunately that moment wouldn’t even rank in the top one hundred on my immutable time chain o stupidity dating back to childhood🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s onay. We’re all #tardstr

Spelling mistake 🤣 *it’s okay

if stretching is a waste of time

why do i feel better when i do it?

i think your studies look at a very limited range of data.

Neurological adaptation. Feel free to share any comparative studies that show people are better off after stretching.

"source??"

It’s kind of like when you’re listening to something really retarded and then you turn it off and you feel better because the silence is such a relief 😂

I feel retarded reading this take bro

I’ve always hated spending time at the gym stretching….but it doesn’t seem to loosen me up….what about warmup sets. Any use in those?

There is no harm in warming up. If you are going to lift heavy, you should definitely do some kind of warmup so you don’t strain or hurt yourself. However, lifting heavy is generally unnecessary if you practice high intensity training that was popularized by Mike Mentzer. Not to be confused with HIIT or high intensity interval training.

My experience in martial arts and yoga contradict you completely. I was able to measure increased flexibility in multiple instances.

So you’re taller now?

Being limber doesn't mean you change size.

👆👆👆💯

👆💯🎯

Strength important but after 50 yo cardio and flexibility are paramount…imho

Yeah for sure has to be something else. If you don’t exercise regularly and you’re not fat, then your Achilles shouldn’t just tear like that. I know seed oils cause inflammation and are linked to the rise of injuries like acl and achilles tears. Pretty depressing, tell him to stop eating seed oils because they’re making his body weak.

Eats like shit. And works a ton.

This was a fluke thing I think but good feedback.

Torn Achilles happen. It happens to the most supreme athletes on the planet. Usually a freak accident when there is a sudden quick change in direction.

It makes sense when it happens to supreme athletes because they have abnormal masses of muscle that we didn’t evolve to handle on average ligaments. Remember you can grow muscles but can’t grow your achilles, acl, etch. They also extensively strain their joints and body repeatedly. But an ordinary person who isn’t fat and does not have strained ligaments shouldn’t tear his achilles by just running like that. Holy shit we would’ve gone extinct if we were that fragile lmao

My Achilles snapped in a situation with a quick change of direction playing sports. Sounds similar to SatsMcd mechanic scenario where you are reacting quicker than your body is able to keep up. It’s not going to be 3 weeks though to recover if it is a torn Achilles. More like 9 months to a year.

And you likely won’t ever be the same again. Unfortunate. Sorry to hear that.

If you're not tearing your ligaments sprinting, you aren't going hard enough.

💯 I injured my knee the first time 3-4 years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was because my body was made of fiat despite being physically active.

Sorry to hear that.

Fiat bodies are an epidemic. We’re past that now. 👍😎🫡🏆💪
