True. Especially in this type of realist paintings, Bitcoin is a challenging subject.
Tough portraying abstract concepts like status, class and exploration in the 1700s were commonly done through physical manifestations.
Similarly, we still use floppy disks as the symbol for saving, eventhough they’re not being used anymore.
I’m curious if you have different thoughts on what symbolism best represents Bitcoin or decentralization in general?
that's a tough one. I don't work in realist imagery like you do as much of my creative work is crafting like knitting and quilting. one of my favorite motifs to represent Bitcoin, is the log cabin piecework block. The entirety of the design is predicated on the previous piece being in place like the blockchain.
In my Bitcoin beanie design, other than the obvious Bitcoin symbol, I added in the chain because of the dependency and interlocking nature of Bitcoin and also waves because the price goes up and down. a bit tongue and cheek on that last one.

I really like the idea of subsequent works referring to each other, just like a blockchain.
I guess it’s also part of the journey to play around with symbols.
Thanks!
